Kiski man charged in connection with Christmas Day hit-and-run and domestic dispute - TribLIVE

A Kiski man charged in connection with a hit-and-run in the township on Christmas Day also was involved in a domestic dispute call just down the road from the crash scene, according to township police.

Kiski police on Tuesday announced they had arrested Steven Brown, 32, on charges including aggravated assault by motor vehicle while driving under the influence.

Just before 9 p.m. Monday, Kiski police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Route 56 for reports of a pickup hitting a pedestrian, according to a statement from police Chief Lee Bartolicius. Officers learned that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene.

While officers were en route to the crash scene, they were dispatched to a domestic dispute call near the accident scene, Bartolicius said. Officers found that the man involved in the domestic dispute, Brown, was intoxicated and sitting in his pickupin the driveway, police said.

After an investigation, officers determined that Brown was the same person responsible for striking a man on Route 56, Bartolicius said.

A 38-year-old man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.

Bartolicius thanked the Kiski Township Fire Department and the Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department for their help in the investigation.

He asked those with additional information on either incident to contact Officer Colton Howard at 724-478-3357 or at choward@kiskitownship-pa.gov.
