CLEVELAND, Ohio – Police arrested two men and a teen in connection to a shooting Saturday that killed one man and injured another at Jefferson Park on the city’s West Side.

The three had not been criminally charged as of Sunday afternoon and police said the investigation is still open.

Officers found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head about 5:35 p.m. on West 132nd Street and Lorain Avenue.

The man was taken to MetroHealth where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police located another 25-year-old man shot in the hip in the 3600 block of West 134th Street.

A prior investigation by police indicated that the two men who were shot went to the park to play basketball. When they entered the court where others played basketball, a white vehicle pulled up and multiple people fired shots from inside of the vehicle.

Police also discovered the vehicle had been taken in an aggravated robbery on Apr. 15 at West 63rd Street and Storer Avenue.

After the shooting, officers attempted to pull over the vehicle on Baldwin and Mt. Caramel roads. A short pursuit initiated after the driver refused to pull over, and the vehicle crashed in the 2400 block of Baldwin Road. Four men ran from the vehicle, police said.

Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for their suspected involvement in the shooting, according to police.

Multiple firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
