Burton police arrest man in connection with fatal Tuesday morning shooting - MLive.com

BURTON, MI – A 24-year-old Burton man was arrested and lodged in the Genesee County Jail around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in the city earlier the same day.

Burton Police Chief Brian Ross said the man, who has not been identified, was located in Flint. He was apprehended with the assistance of the Michigan State Police and faces a homicide charge.

No further information was released.

Officers were dispatched around 1 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, to the 1500 block of Mclean Avenue, between Saginaw Road and Morrison Street, for a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ross said at the time the suspect was known but was “in the wind.”
