LAUREL, Del. – Police are actively searching for a Salisbury man wanted in connection to a pursuit earlier this week.

Just after 10 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the area of 1400 Grazing Court in the Hollybrook Apartments for a subject reporting that they had located a stolen vehicle. As units were arriving at the scene, the vehicle described was seen leaving the apartment complex on Discount Land Road. Responding officers tried to stop the vehicle as it turned onto Wilson Street, but it failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed northbound on Seaford Road.

The chase continued when the vehicle left the roadway and became disabled in a farm field south of Bethel Road. Three occupants inside the vehicle then reportedly fled on foot into the woods, and officers found illegal drugs and related paraphernalia inside the vehicle. A search of the area was initiated by Laurel Police, Delaware State Police, Delaware Department of Natural Resources Police, and DSP Aviation, leading to the apprehension of two of the occupants.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Jacob Beauchamp of Salisbury. It was determined that he did not have a valid driver’s license and had an active warrant out of the Salisbury Police Department for unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Beauchamp is asked to contact Laurel PD at 302-875-2244.
