OAKLEY — Two people were arrested in connection to a shooting Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Oakley police said they received a call at 2:43 p.m. about a shooting on Laurel Road, near the Laurel Ballfields, according to a Facebook post. Officers arrived to find that a person in a moving car had been shot by another person in a different vehicle. The victim didn’t have life-threatening injuries.

Police said they worked with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff, who were also investigating a shooting, and provided a description of the suspect vehicle. The Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff later found and stopped a car that matched the description on Vasco Road near Camino Diablo. The people inside the car were detained and two were arrested after officers determined that two were involved in the shooting.

Authorities said they don’t believe there is a threat to the public as a result of the shooting.
